Rasaq Malik

•Rasaq Malik is a Nigerian University of Ibadan graduate. Michigan Quarterly Review, Poet Lore, Spillway, Rattle, Juked, Connotation Press, Heart Online Journal, Grey sparrow, Jalada, and other publications have published or will publish his work. He has been nominated for Best of the Net nominations thrice. His poetry was one of the contenders for the Best of the Net Nominations for 2015. His poems were recently nominated for the 2017 Pushcart Prize by Rattle Magazine and Poet Loren.

𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 is a short story written in 2001 by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran. This narrates how Liza, the main character, dealt with the issue of her father who had an extramarital affair with Sylvia, and consequently had a son, Lem.

Sinigang left a massive impact on how I see the true face of life. Life is not always fun and easy, it is not as perfect as what we see in movies and series. Life is full of obstacle & challenges, especially when it is about our families. We all have different family status but these does not define who we are. Even if you are from a broken family or what not, you are valid and worthy. Everyone should honestly keep that in mind.
